    Why is Good Nutrition Important?

    Have you ever thought about the reason of eating food? The basic answer that comes in the minds of all people is hunger. In most of the cases, people eat food because they are hungry.

    At times, people also eat food when they are very happy or very sad. In offices and other work places, people eat food just because it is lunch time.

    Thus, there is no doubt that there are many physical and emotional reasons for eating food. However, while eating food, it is very important for an individual to think what he or she is eating.

    An individual should make sure to eat a healthy and well balanced diet, so that the health of the body can be maintained. Do not just eat any food, but eat healthy and good food for a healthy life. Let us here discuss about the importance of good nutrition for an individual.

    Our body requires lot of energy to perform day to day functions. We get the required level of energy from the food that we eat. The importance of food for the body is the same like that of the importance of fuel for the car and importance of electricity to recharge your mobile phone battery.

    Carbohydrates are very important sources of good nutrition for the body. When a person consumes carbohydrates in the form of starch and sugar, they are broken into fructose or glucose units, which are easily digested and are very important forms of energy for the body. So, an individual should consume adequate amount of carbohydrates everyday for the proper functioning of the body.

    Calcium is also a very important mineral for the health of the body. Calcium helps a great deal in maintaining the health of the teeth and the bones.

    Protein is a very important mineral for maintaining the proper functioning of the hormones, immune system, various organs and nervous system. So, make sure to eat foods containing proteins for maintaining the overall health of the body.

    An individual should make sure to consume adequate amount of fatty acids for the proper functioning of the brain and the cells of the body.

    Thus, it would be right to state that good nutrition implies good health. So, an individual should definitely make sure to eat a healthy and well nutritious diet for maintaining his or her health.
