When To Send Your Kid To School
There is always confusion among parents as to what should be the right age for your child to enter into school. Till the age of 5, kids learn through experiments and observing their environment. Since, their mind is tender; they shouldn’t be subjected to added stress and the burden of books. So there shouldn’t be any formal mode of instruction for children till the age of 5. It is good to know that the learning structure has changed over the years. These days they have play schools for children for even the 2 year olds, where they mingle with other kids and learn mutually. These schools teach basics to the kids through plays, poems and stories.
Besides looking at the age there are various other factors which determine if the child can be sent to play schools. One of them is if they are potty trained. Before admitting them to play schools, it is necessary that the kids are properly potty trained. Another factor is the work status of the parents. If both the parents are working, then the parents would prefer sending their children early to play schools to keep them busy.
But they should keep it in mind that the child should not be burdened with a school schedule if the child is not physically and mentally grown up enough to go to school. Daycare-centers are a better option for working parents, where they can leave their children to be taken care of without burdening them with studies too early.
For kindergarten, the age should be 4 and above. By this age, the kids grow restless and want to experience the outside world. At this age, their brain absorbs anything that they hear or see. Besides getting them started with academic education, this age is suitable for them to learn extracurricular activities like singing or dancing. Certain schools, these days, have a minimum age limit for the admission of kids.
The correct age for your child to enter 1st grade is 6 years. At 6, their mental and physical state is considerably developed to understand and learn the subjects. Above all, one must always understand that every child is singular and has different learning abilities.
Some children may not be able to grasp the subjects easily or may take time to understand. As parents and teachers, we must understand this so that the most beautiful years of their life remains beautiful and that they grow up to be mentally and physically healthy. And all this is possible only when the kids are sent to school at the right age, and not too early.
