A wedding is a special day in every couple’s life. On this day they stand in front of their loved ones, family, friends and those close to their hearts and pledge their love for each other.
They offer each other a symbol of their love- a wedding ring.
This signifies a timeless bond and their want to spend their rest of the lives with each other. Exchanging of the wedding rings is the most important part of the ceremony and something that all the guests look forward to.
Every couple chooses to engrave a message on their wedding rings. This is a message to their loved one to have with them forever; and something that their partner can enjoy in times when the other is not around.
Traditionally a wedding ring is supposed to bear the partner’s name and the date of the wedding. However, times have changed and couples are now moving out of their traditional outlook and changing the messages on their wedding rings.
Don’t feel obligated to engrave the ring in English; you can choose to engrave any language on it. Choose the phrase that you want to say to your partner for the rest of your life and engrave it on the ring.
The encryption on the ring does not need to be romantic; it can be funny, quirky or even a code. Remember; the ring needs to be personal message to your partner. Some of the most common phrases that have been put on rings include:You are the answer to my prayers, You are what I’ve been looking for all my life, I couldn’t ask for more now that I have found you, Mine- Forever!, I am the luckiest person on earth, Now, I am happy that you are mine, Mine – to have and to hold, Walk with me through good times and bad, Now and Forever.
If the couple were friends before they decided to get married then the ring could mention that. A naughty message on the ring is not a bad idea either; it’s a good way to get out of an argument or make your partner laugh if you have a fight somewhere down the line.
You can come up with something creative and original to engrave on your ring or simply borrow something from a famous poet or writer. However whatever you choose to say needs to be a script that is personal and that which your partner can cherish for the rest of their days.
