Various Symptoms of Eczema
In literal terms, eczema means to boil over. Eczema is one of the terms used for defining numerous skin conditions with the severity of the disease varying from case to case. The skin problems which are caused due to this disease are quite unpleasant to look at but it is not contagious.
Eczema is actually an allergy which is known to affect the outer layer of the skin. The skin becomes extremely sensitive to almost every substance that it comes across. Also sometimes known as dermatitis, eczema can affect any individual irrespective of their age or sex.
Eczema is one of the severe skin diseases which should be instantly taken care of before the problem exceeds beyond control. Eczema symptoms are usually characterized by dry, reddish and scaly rashes which become irritably itchy. The disease affects the neck, face, hands and quite rarely it is found in the creases of the limbs.
The rash initially starts off as a tiny blister rupturing beneath the skin surface but over the time period, it can become so severe that it can bring along a lot of sleepless nights because of its weeping and intensive itching. Some of the following symptoms can also be noticed:
1) Reddish – Brown Gray Patches. Eczema leads to the inflammation of the skin which increases the blood flow to that particular area leading to a red appearance at that spot. The red spot is also caused due to bacterial infection. One of the symptoms of Eczema is reddish – brown gray patches and sometimes discoloring of the skin.
2) Tight – Thick skin. Repeated scratching of the skin causes activates the protective response of the skin which makes the eczema affected skin thicker than the unaffected regions.
3) Bubbled up Skin. Eczema causes large fluid or pus filled blisters depending upon the nature of eczema. The tissue fluids come out between the cells and together form blisters.
The skin becomes extremely sensitive, raw and infected because of repeated itching.
