Routine vaccinations are those which are administered during childhood under immunization schedule. These include Diphtheria, tuberculosis, pertussis, tetanus, mumps, polio, measles, rubella and hepatitis B. Make sure that these vaccinations are completely updated and no booster dose are required.
Under the category of recommended vaccination those vaccination are given which are necessary to protect the traveler from those disease which routinely occurs in that part of the world you are traveling. Few examples of them are Hepatitis A, Rabies, typhoid fever etc.
The vaccine required for traveling to certain countries of Sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America by international health regulations is yellow fever vaccination and for traveling during hajj, Meningococcal vaccination is required by the government of Saudi Arabia.
