Here in this article, we will learn about various types of dentures. I would deal with only varieties of full dentures. As per the dentistry, dentures could be divided into 4 categories. Such as: standard dentures, implant retained dentures, immediate dentures and Cu-Sil dentures.
The standard denture: This type of denture is suitable for those, who have lost all their teeth due to some reason. It will take you a long time (at least 4-5 visits to doctor) to get it done. In case the doctor finds some flabby tissues creating problem for the implanted dentures’ stability then you might be asked to go for a surgical alteration of the ridges
Immediate dentures: these types of dentures are also called temporary dentures. Usually, these immediate dentures are also kept permanently by many, but some risks are involved in doing that. These dentures are prepared before the natural teeth are being removed and put into the gum immediately after the removal of teeth.
Cu-Sil dentures: This is a more developed innovation, which allow people to go for implant that can accommodate the remaining few natural teeth as well. Suppose, you don’t need all your teeth to be removed and replaced by dentures, then you should go for these cu-sil dentures.
Over-dentures: These are not any new innovation. This type of dentures are removable and usually put over the existing natural teeth. In case, you have broken or decayed teeth then you can go for it.
Implant retained dentures: This type of implant is a bit expensive, but pretty effective at the same time. For this implantation, a hole is drilled into the bone inside the gum as per the teeth’s position and then a titanium screw is put in that hole. The titanium will be left for months to be integrated with the bone, so that it can hold the implant properly. This is just a rough idea about the implant retained dentures.
