Tips for Soft Feet
We all love the feel of satiny soft baby feet against our skin. We long to go back to the days when our feet felt the same delicate way. Years of walking around in shoes or bare feet and neglecting our feet cause the sole to become hard and develop corns and calluses.
The feet also lose their softness. The good news is that these years of damage can be rectified by performing a simple cleaning and softening ritual for our feet regularly.
A simple way of getting back the soft delicate skin of your feet is to pamper them at home. Fill a medium sized basin or tub with warm water. Take 20 gm of Epsom salt or sea salt and add it in the water. Next add two tablespoon of fresh cream. If fresh cream is not available you can add facial cream or even hair conditioner.
Mix well and soak your feet in this mixture for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Take a pumice stone and rub it gently on the feet in circular motions to exfoliate the dead skin. Once the required time has passed take out the feet from the water and dry them on a soft towel. Take a generous amount of mint based lotion and apply on your feet. Put on cotton socks and let your feet soak in the moisturizer.
If you do not have the time or energy to treat your feet you can always walk into a spa or a nail salon for professional treatment. These are also best for those who have callused and rough feet. Professional pedicures will give your feet and nails the much pampering and treatment that they need.
This will involve feet massage, cuticle cutting, nail trimming, nail polish, exfoliation and of course a soak. Professionally done pedicures last your for up to fifteen days. But you can also get them done sooner if your feet requires.
Besides the home and spa treatments it is important to take good care of your feet regularly. Wash them daily and if possible use an apricot shell based scrub everyday on your feet. This will keep the dead skin away and also remove tanning and marks left by tight shoes. Apply lotion on your feet after they are completely dry. You can also use foot moisturizers and essential oils to keep them soft throughout the day.
