Party! Doesn’t the mere mention of the word make you feel energized and excited? Summer is the ideal time for having a garden party. You can invite some of your closest friends and have a blast with a garden party in your front lawn of backyard. In the past, high class people used to throw garden party to show off their new dresses and great hats. However, in the present time, it is not just for high society and can be a lot of fun. You can choose to have a casual, fancy or themed garden party, or have it during daytime or the nighttime.

You can choose different themes for your garden party. If you are a part of a book club, you can send floral invitations requesting your guests to come as their favorite Victorian era character. You can also pick different books such as Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice. You can also go for color themes such as crisp white for evening garden parties.
Setting the Table
The best kind of decoration for any garden party is the floral or natural theme for invitations as well as centerpieces. Drape your tables with white tablecloth and use clear water pitchers filled with flowers and vases. Use a low bowl with fruits as your centerpiece. You can also place small bowls containing flowers along each table. Use color and bold tableware with flowery designs. Crystals also work well with garden parties. You can make bold statements with bright colors such as coral or electric blue.
Decorating the Garden
Your garden can be decorated for the party is several ways. If you are having a daytime party, you can drape the trees with gauzy fabrics. Cast iron or wrought iron patio furniture can add a Victorian touch to the garden. You can place different colorful planters and terracotta pots around the garden area as well as hang pots containing peonies or begonias. If you are having your garden party in the night time, you can decorate the trees with string lights to have a starry effect. Add soft music to set the mood.
Fun and Food
For daytime garden parties, you can serve scones, finger sandwiches, strawberry shortcakes or strawberry and cream. For dinner party, you can have a buffet with salmon, grilled chicken, mushroom, sun dried tomatoes or Mexican wraps.
