If you are planning to visit Sydney this summer, then you just can’t miss out the famous Australian Bondi Beach. It is approximately seven kilometers from Sydney. The people from all over the world meet and mix here.
The Beach
The native meaning of Bondi is “the thud of the breaking waves”. The indigenous rock carvings near the beach make the surroundings awesome.
The Bondi Beach stretches for about a kilometer, and is the most broader and spacious beaches in the Sydney area. The average temperature of the water during summer is approximately 21 degrees. For safety the shark net is laid at a distance of 150m away from the beach. There has been no casualty reported since 1937.
The Baths-The Pool-The Swim
The Bondi Baths used by the Bondi Icebergs still exists near the southern side of the Bondi Beach. These are more than a century old. In the northern side of the Bondi Beach, the Children-Wading-Pool and the Wally-Weekes-Pool is situated.
The swimming areas are marked by yellow and red colored flags. The positions of the flags are changed based on the wave condition. It is always advisable to go for swimming in the northern end of the Bondi Beach.
Life Savers/Guards
Specialized lifeguards are always on the vigil to protect and guard the visitors. You would find many volunteer-lifesavers with yellow-red uniforms supporting the lifeguards during holidays, weekends and summer.
Your coastal stroll
During your leisurely walk around the beach area, you would come across Bondi-Pavilion, Bondi-Surf-Bathers-Life-Saving-Club, and North-Bondi-Surf-Club.
Your coastal walk from the Bondi Beach towards the Bronte Beach would be worth it. It brings you amazing views of the cliffs.
Events
With overseas visitors, the Annual-Events at Bondi Beach are very popular. It’s worth it to be at Bondi Beach for a leisure trip.
