The Importance of Hair Care
Lots of exposure to the sun, dirt, pollution, regular hair dyeing, shampoos, re bonding and styling can all damage the hair. There needs to be careful attention paid to how you are washing and rinsing your hair. It is good to know that it is your scalp which needs more attention than your hair.
Make sure to use a natural rinse as it helps to strengthen the hair and help in its healthy growth. Avoid the chemical rinses as they only coat the hair. For those who are constantly colouring their hair, mix the juice of one lemon into one cup of water and use as a rinse after a shampoo. Rinse again with cold water and you will find that you highlights will stand out better. This will also help in treating oily hair as well as an oily scalp.
Since your scalp is more important as this is where the hair follicles begin, brush your hair vigorously to improve circulation in the scalp. Another very good rinse is the one which is made with herbs. Use any herb of your choice and pour boiling water over it. Keep it aside for about twenty minutes and then strain. Massage this water into your hair and if you can, leave it for the day.
For those who are suffring from split ends, olive oil can be used as a remedy. You can apply it regularly at the ends of your hair and keep it for a few hours before washing it off. Beer is an excellent rinse that you can use in your hair. It helps in increasing the volume and you can use it twice a month. Rinse the hair with regular water to remove the smell of beer after you have allowed it to sink in for ten minutes.
Since the sun damages the hair and gives it a bleached look, try and save your hair by applying sesame oil into your hair and scalp. This acts as a sun block for your hair. Badly damaged hair by the sun can damage your hair beyond repair. Just as you use sun block for your face, apply this on your hair to protect it.
