Teach your child to avoid using mobile phone while driving
In the present era, people are so busy that they don’t want to waste time or in other words they want to utilize every second and hence, in spite of doing one work, they simultaneously start doing other activity.
The most common example is usage of mobile phones while doing any work.
You too might be using your cell phone while taking meals or working on computer. Some people even take their cell phone to bathroom.
But in any of these cases, your life is not at risk and you can easily manage talking over phone with somebody while doing any activity.
However, the frequent use of mobile phone while driving is certainly not a good habit.
And if your teenage child has developed this habit then you should teach him neither to receive any call nor to make any call through cell phone while driving.
But teenagers usually like to lead a carefree life and they always want to adopt the latest trend in their lifestyle.
The teenagers even admire those people who frequently use their mobile phone while driving a car because it requires high skills to successfully manage both the vehicle and cell phone at the same time.
However, if you will properly explain your child the disadvantages of using mobile phones while driving then he would surely follow your instructions.
Let us go through some of the disadvantages:
Disturbance
Ask your child to take you on a long drive. When your vehicle enters a busy road, ask him to dial a specific number of any of your friends.
He would certainly feel uncomfortable and might say that the road is too busy and he is unable to concentrate while dialing the number. Still if you will insist, he might dial a wrong number.
He will feel upset with your insistence. But later, back at home, tell him calmly that if he is driving a car, then his main responsibility is to drive it safely without disturbance or else an accident might take place.
Let your child know that the mobile phone is the biggest distracting element while driving any vehicle and he should avoid using it.
Some teenagers play games in their mobile phone
If your teenager plays games in his mobile phone while driving then he is deliberately risking his life.
To play any game, your child would have to concentrate on it and while driving a vehicle, he would not be able to play properly.
Still, if he continues to score points in the game then he will feel excited and would focus his attention from driving to scoring more points. In this scenario, a slight negligence in his driving could be cost dear to him and your entire family.
Some teenagers prefer listening songs loaded in their cell phones
Normally, we use our car’s music system to listen songs but some teenagers play songs in their mobile phones and hear them through earphones. If your child is a music lover then he too might be having this kind of habit.
But warn him not to do this because while listening music through earpieces connected to mobile phones, he might not remain aware about the activities of his surrounding and as a consequence, he might hit some other vehicle or pedestrian.
