sunburntratmentSunburn is the result of the burn that is caused on the skin by the ultraviolet rays of the sun. In most of the cases sunburn causes itching on the skin and at times leaves a red mark on it as well. There are various products available over the counter but they may not be able to you instant relief.

We suggest some simple home remedies that will help you to treat those burns instantly. One of the best ways to reduce the itchiness is to use milk, just dip a cotton ball in some cold milk and apply it on the affected area. Ice is also known to provide instant relief when rubbed to the affected area.

You can keep some old tea bags in the refrigerator for some time and then apply them on the affected area. This helps to get rid of the tanning that is caused by the use burn.

You can even use mustard oil to treat sunburn, just apply it on the affected area and leave it there. This not only helps in removing the tan from the affected area but also helps in removing the heat that is trapped in the burn. It reduces the itchiness and the redness form the skin.

You can make a mixture of yogurt, barley and turmeric, make it in the consistency of the paste and apply it on the affected area. It will give you instant relief.

Baking soda can be a very effective ingredient. Add a few tablespoons of baking soda to cool bath water. Soak in that bath for about 15 to 20 minutes. Remember to air dry the body, this will help in providing smoothness to the skin.

There are times when you can get sunburn on the small spot on the back where you forgot to put the sunscreen on. Not only these can further aggravate with clothes but also cause more irritation. To get relief apply some cornstarch on the burned area, this will give you relief from the itchiness and the pain.

Pour around one cup of cider vinegar in your bath water and then take a dip in this. It will help in soothing those sun burns. If you Aloe Vera gel then you can even apply this on the affected area as it provides cooling affect on the affected area.

Take around two washed potatoes and then cut them into small chunks and put them in a blender and make it into a paste. Apply the potato paste on the affected area of the body. This will help in reliving the pain and potatoes are natural bleaching agents that will help to reduce the tan as well.

Herbs have medicinal properties and they can be useful in treating sunburn as well. Just make some tea by combining one teaspoon of dried chamomile with one cup of water. Cool the tea soak some cotton balls in it and then apply on affected area. This will instantly stop the burning sensation.

Oatmeal can prove instant relief to sunburned skin. Just will the bath some cool water and add around one cup of oatmeal to it. Soak in it for about half an hour and then let the skin dry naturally. You can also add around half cup of vinegar to your bathwater and this will help to take out the sting from the burn.

Aloe Vera gel is known for its various skin benefiting properties and applying the gel on the face can give you instant relief from the sting and redness from the skin. You can apply this for about six to seven times a day.

Drinking a lot of water can speed up your recovery. When the skin gets sunburn it is most of the times dehydrated, this helps the skin to recover faster.

There are a few precautions that you need to follow as well when you get a skin burn. If you have a sun burn skin then remember not to go out in the sun till it is healed as this will further damage the skin. There are times when sunburn can also cause blisters on the skin. Remember never to pop those blisters as they might get infected.
