Alcoholic beverages are quite popular, but it is quite important to have some special non-alcoholic choices for those who do not drink, such as pregnant women, non-drinkers or under-agers. Let us view certain simple recipes which make great options for non-alcoholic beverages during the holiday season.
Raspberry Mint Crush
Sugar (2 cups)
Boiling Water (2 cups)
Red Raspberries (1 cup)
Mint (1 bunch)
Lime juice (2 cups)
To make this drink, dissolve sugar in boiling water and allow it to chill for some time. Add crushed berries along with lime juice and mint, and let it chill for another 2 – 3 hours in your refrigerator. Put crushed ice in small glasses and strain and pour the prepared drink over it. Serve with some additional mint leaves. You can make enough drink for 12 small glasses with this recipe. You can also add green edgings on the glasses to add to the presentation.
Spicy Coffee Cooler
Cloves (15 Nos.)
Cinnamon (2 sticks)
Ground coffee (½ cup)
Boiling water (7 cups)
Powdered sugar (1 cup)
Granulated sugar (1 tablespoon)
Heavy whipped cream (1 cup)
Cinnamon
Add cinnamon, cloves and coffee to boiling water and brew it well; strain and add to it powdered sugar. Let it cool and then pour into tall glasses half filled with ice. You can top it with sweetened whipped cream and dust using powdered cinnamon. These measurements make enough spicy coffee cooler for 6 people.
Lime Rickey
Juice extracted from 1 large lime
Sugar (1 teaspoon)
Club soda
Stir sugar and lime juice together in a glass; add 2 ice cubes, and then fill the glass with club soda. Garnish the drink with lime slices. This drink can be presented well if matched with green cocktail napkins, or lime-colored coasters.
Planters Punch
Orange juice (2 cups)
Lemon juice (2 cups)
Grenadine (2 cups)
Ginger Ale (3 quarts)
Rum flavoring
Sliced pineapple and Strawberries (for garnishing)
Mint leaves (for garnishing)
Mix all the juices together; add grenadine and the rum flavoring and allow the drink to chill for a minimum of 12 hours or overnight. Just before serving, add ginger ale to it. Garnish using pineapple, mint leaves and strawberries. You can serve 60 people with this recipe, depending on the size of glasses.
