    They are red, they are sweet and they are found in almost every kitchen in the world. Yes, we are talking about the round and cheery little tomatoes. While they make for taste in curries, soups and ketchups, did you know that tomatoes are ‘all-in-one’ skin care antidote?

    That is true, now all you need is to make your way into your kitchen and pop out a nice plump tomato to take care of all your skin woes.

    Being rich in lycopene, tomatoes are loaded with anti-oxidants. The anti-oxidant works wonders for the skin as a nice sunscreen and also as an anti-aging ingredient. Lycopene is known to help retain moisture in the skin and is useful for those who spend hours working in the air-conditioned environment.

    If you have been spending too much over cosmetics, it is time to take a break and get to know few tricks with tomatoes that will take care of all your skin troubles. Firstly, it is important to take care of those big pores on your skin. A mixture of tomato juice along with a few drops of lime juice applied all over the face for fifteen minutes will help reduce the enlarged pores.

    Have you been battling with acne for too long? Well, it is time you let the good old tomato work its trick. The acidity in tomato helps in acne reduction, giving you a clear skin on the long run. The best way to do so, is to apply the tomato pulp all over your face and leave it for some time. This way your skin will get its dose of Vitamin A, C and K.

    Tomato is also the perfect treat for oily skin as it helps control those over-active oil-glands. Mixing tomato juice with cucumber juice makes for the perfect anti-oil treatment for your skin. A fine face pack made from tomatoes and avocado works best for combination skin. Tomato provides the astringent properties and avocado works as an anti-septic for the skin.

    This pack should be applied all over the face for about 20 to 30 minutes every day for soothing and cleansing your skin. With the summers just around the corner, it is advisable to be prepared for skin burns due to sun exposure. Blend some tomato juice with fresh curd and apply all over those places that have suffered from sunburns. Leave for twenty minutes before you wash off your body.

    Lastly, honey and tomato is just perfect to provide you with glowing skin. This pack applied for fifteen minutes every day is sure to give you that much desired glow you have been looking for.
