    Show Off An Even Skin Tone This Summer!

    Even skin tone is the dream of all women since it is associated with classic beauty. An even skin tone also makes the face appear younger and look attractive. Uneven skin tone often has blemishes, patchy skin, and small bumps in the form of blackheads and whiteheads, pigmentation, has uneven skin color and appears rough.

    There is no need to lose sleep over uneven skin tone. it can be easily fixed by following some simple and easy skin care tips. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. Don’t expect overnight results. Regular use of these tips over a period of four weeks will start showing you improvement in your skin tone. Expect a flawless and even complexion in about three months.

    9 Tips for Even Skin Tone

    1. Use a good and gentle facial scrub twice a week. Scrubbing will get rid of dead skin cells revealing new and healthy skin. Take care not to overdo with the scrubbing as it can cause harm to your skin. Twice a week gently massage your face with the scrub moving your hands in light circular motions over your face and neck. Wash off the scrub using cold water and let the face dry naturally. Apply a light moisturizer after scrubbing.

    2. Always use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. a sunscreen with SPF 30 is ideal for all skin types. If you work outside in the open then use sunscreen with SPF 50. Apply sunscreen on your face, neck, arms and legs twenty minutes before stepping out. Don’t forget to re-apply sunscreen after every two hours. Cover your face using a broad-brimmed hat.

    Wear large sunglasses to protect the skin around the eyes. Cover your arms and legs with clothing. Remember, sunscreen is not only meant for summers. It should be applied in winters as well. The UV rays of the sun are as harmful in summer as they are in winter. Sunscreen will not only protect you from developing an uneven skin tone but also keep diseases like skin cancer at bay.

    3. Get a microdermabrasion one every 15 days. Book yourself in a Spa to get microdermabrasion done. This is the process wherein small aluminum oxide crystals are blasted onto the surface of the skin. These crystals are removed using a hand operated vacuum machine. The oxide crystals help in cleaning the skin pores off the accumulated debris.

    This leaves the skin clean of dead skin cells, dirt, grime, sebum and blackheads. Microdermabrasion helps keep the skin surface smooth and even. With regular use it evens out the skin tone as well. Plenty of brands have taken out their do-it-yourself microdermabrasion kits which can help you achieve even skin tone in the privacy of your home.

    4. Drink plenty of liquids especially water. Keeping your skin well hydrated will keep it supple and plumped up. Dehydrated skin starts looking botchy, tired and uneven. Intake of fresh fruit juices will also give the skin essential nutrients and minerals.

    5. Get a chemical peel treatment done by a professional. Chemical peeling will remove the layer of dead and damaged skin cells revealing a younger and healthier skin layer. This layer of skin will be even and help give you a healthy complexion. The chemical peel treatment can be done once every month.

    6. Use a Vitamin C cream every night before retiring to bed. The vitamin will nourish your skin improving its texture and tone. Vitamin C is excellent for removing toxins from the pores of the skin and diminishing discoloration.

    7. Apply a face mask of strawberries, honey and dry milk. Prepare the mask by blending 3 ripe strawberries and one teaspoon of honey in an electric mixer. Empty the contents of the mixer in a small bowl. Add two teaspoon dry milk or milk powder in the bowl and blend it well in the honey-strawberry mixture.

    The milk should dissolve completely without leaving any lumps. Spread this mask on your face, ears and neck. Leave for twenty minutes and wash off with cold water. This mask can be used daily and is good for all skin types. Regular use of the mask for over a period of two weeks will show a considerable improvement in the skin tone.

    8. Prepare a mask of oatmeal, lemon juice, honey and egg white for even skin tone. Make a paste using two teaspoon oatmeal, juice of one lemon, one egg white and one tablespoon honey. Mix the ingredients well and apply on face and neck. Leave on for about 15 minutes and rinse off using lukewarm water.

    Oatmeal is a good exfoliator while lemon gently bleaches the skin. Honey soothes the exfoliated skin and egg white provides the skin with protein. Use the mask twice a week for at least four weeks to see improvement in your skin tone. Continue using the mask once a week after achieving an even skin tone.

    9. Use mineral makeup to even out any skin discolorations. Mineral makeup covers your blemishes well and at the same time provides the skin with minerals like titanium oxide that help keep the skin healthy.

    Dab only a little powder on your Kabuki brush and spread the powder evenly on the face and neck. Don’t be tempted to use more. With mineral powder less is best. Use outward strokes starting at the base of the neck and move upwards toward cheeks and forehead.

    Use only good cosmetics on the skin. Don’t be tempted to try out all new products in the market. They might contain chemicals which will further aggravate your problem. Read the list of ingredients in each cosmetic carefully to ensure you don’t end up buying products that will discolor your skin. See a dermatologist if your condition does not improve. Do not use over-the-counter creams and medicines without first consulting a doctor.
