Should you Reveal Everything to your Partner?
Its a million dollar questions. Should you reveal yourself completely to your partner? The answer is straight and simple. You will simply destroy your married life if you reveal everything to your partner.
While it is good to be straightforward and honest, but there is something in life which you must keep in the closet locked forever. There is no point just sitting and telling everything to your partner. It is not dishonesty.
It is intelligence applied to make a relationship running smoothly over a long period of time. There might be things in your past life especially related to your relationship with a person of opposite sex.
You might want to reveal it completely to your partner. No matter how accepting your partner is, there is always a scope that things go haywire. He or she might not tell you on your face but on an inner level it may be hurting and creating a feeling of ill will against you. Therefore it is better that you do not reveal everything to your partner.
Even when the relationship is perfect with complete trust between the partners, there is a bit of hypocrisy and role play involved there. Imagine a small situation.
Suppose that your partner comes from office very tired and you are in the home. You may be tired doing some home stuff. If you partner asks for a glass of water or a cup of coffee then what should you do? Should you say that you are yourself tired and you cannot do anything more in the evening.
This answer may be honest but it can be hurtful to your partner and if it is done regularly then there is a possibility that the relationship starts breaking. So the honest answers does not work always, there has to a bit of pretension in a relationship to keep it on track.
Relationships are delicate and they need to be nurtured. You need to be intelligent enough to understand the requirements of your relationship. It is not as straightforward as it may seem. It has to nurtured and if there a bit of role playing is required than you should go ahead and do it.
