Scented to Perfection
A man is always judged not only the way he looks and dresses, but also the way that he smells. The way a man smells in itself can be the most turning on, or putting off.
Men have a tendency to get carried away and pick up perfumes that are simply the most popular, or the latest. They understand very little about the different forms and types of perfumes that they have available. Ever perfume has been formulated differently and is for different people. Also, each perfume reacts with the body differently based on the body chemistry, and produces a different fragrance. So what actually may inspire you to buy a fragrance may not be what is best for you. Do not go for what smells good on your friends.
There are different types of fragrances, and each has a different purpose. Eau de cologne is a formulation which has a relatively low composition of essential oils, and a high amount of ethanol. Eau de toilettes have a slightly higher percentage of fragrance, while eau de parfums have the highest concentration of essential oils. You should read for what you are buying. Most people are unaware of the kind of fragrance they use, and only buy for the brand.
There are three notes which a scent has the – the top note, middle note and also the base note. When you spray a scent on you must wait for at least thirty minutes before you can really smell the perfume. If you smell immediately after spraying the scent, you are only smelling the top note. It will continue to react with the skin and change its fragrance on the skin every few minutes.
Keeping all of these in mind, you can decide what you really want to go for. You may want to opt for a strong aftershave instead of a perfume, which could work well for you. Remember that all strong perfumes need not stay strong for a while after they are applied. It may make more sense for you to opt for a more floral or citrus fragrance if you are going to a place which is in a small, closed environment. The smell can become overbearing otherwise.
When wearing your fragrance, keep in mind your body type and also the occasion. It would be wise to have more than one with you so that you can vary the scent accordingly.
