    Quit Drinking Alcohol

    quit-drinking-alcoholWhen a person gets trapped in the cycle of alcohol addiction, it becomes very difficult for him to get rid of it. Fear holds him back. So to quit drinking, first of all develop a strong hatred for drinking, keeping in mind the negative effects of drinking.

    •    First, try to cut down on the amount you consume, by slowing down on regular basis. Then only you will be able to get rid of it some day.

    •    Avoid those friends and the place where and with whom you enjoy drinking. Avoid going to parties off and on.

    •    Make yourself busy in the other activities, like playing with your children, spending time with your family members etc.

    •    Take your family and friends into confidence and tell them that you want to quit drinking. You will definitely get their support.

    •    To quit drinking is not impossible, provided you have courage to do so and strong will power to stay away from it. Motivate yourself, reminding the consequences you are facing. Think how alcohol has taken over your body. How you come home late at night, wake up with big hangover, how you have become a stranger to your own family. You can get rid of alcohol only when you stick to your commitment with a strong determination.

    •    Remind yourself that your family needs you. And if you don’t give up drinking, sooner or later you will face the risk of lung or liver cancer.

    •    If you are able to convince yourself that you are defeating an awful enemy who has deprived you of many great pleasure of life, you will definitely like to quit drinking.

    •    Whenever you feel like purchasing a bottle, hold yourself tight and spend that money on a healthier option that can relieve you from stress like massage, spa or yoga classes.

    •    Start your day with exercise or walk and drink sufficient water. Eat a healthy and balanced diet as it will help you to boost your energy. When your health improves, you will not feel the urge to drink.

    •    If still you find it hard to give up drinking, consider joining support groups that gives help and support to millions of people to quit drinking.

    You can go through some health problem when you quit drinking. Take vitamin B supplement and also talk to your doctor. If you experience severity, join a treatment center.
