Pros And Cons Of Day Care Center
Today in most of the families, both the parents are working. And today’s family structure being nuclear, parents have hardly any option to leave their babies in day care centers until they return from work.
To support parents, many day care centers have come up to relieve parents. But day care centers have some advantages and disadvantages too. So before depending on these centers they must gather some knowledge about them and take their own decision.
Pros
• Good baby care centers provide trained staffs who are well qualified in child care and development. This staffs are also given training on first aid, so proper growth and development of your child is possible with them.
• Their remains no fear of child abuse or negligence as child remains under the supervision of a staff team.
• Good day care centers are licensed and registered under the corporation. So they are more reliable than home nannies.
• Your toddler gets an environment, where he finds himself surrounded by other kids of his/her age group and learns to interact with them. This helps them to socialize from very early age. While those kids who stay at home linger on their parents and do not socialize easily.
• Day care centers provide children a structural environment according to their age and enhance their capability of learning.
• Leaving your baby at home keeping a nanny is neither safe nor cost effective like day care center.
• Kids learn to follow a routine and become more disciplined from an early age. Timely eating, washing their hands before meal etc. help them to learn good habits. And there is no doubt that they grow in a better way.
Cons
• As toddlers are less immune to certain disease, any infection or illness can spread easily and affect your child.
• As one to one care is not possible, your child may feel isolated or lonely.
• Sometimes day care staff quit their job because they are under paid or may be due to some other reason. Your child, who gets attached in between feels isolated.
• One of the biggest problems of day care center is that parents are totally on the mercy of the center. If some how they get late they have to pay late pick up fees, stay at home when the child is sick.
It is very difficult for parents to choose between day care center and home care. They need to think over it well as decide which is best for their child.
