Problems in Keeping A Dog
It is very easy for kids to tell their parents to get a pet. And when you say no you become the bad one and all they do is sulk. Children do not understand what it means to get a pet. A pet needs as much care as a child. It needs to be fed, played with, and taken to the vet and other such things.
If you are getting a pet it is better to settle for a dog but it is good to understand the demands that come with getting one. If you are working parents and the kids go to school; you should have some domestic help at home to feed the dog and take it for a walk.
It is important to keep the dog clean as they are likely to get fleas and this is really troublesome for them.
If you have carpets in your home take care as dogs shed a lot of hair. In the beginning when the pet jest arrives all members in the house offer their help; but slowly the novelty dies down and every one carries on with their routine lives and the whole care of it comes on to you.
If you are vegetarian at home then do not get a dog as they love to eat bones and it is not fair for you to change that to simply suit your needs. Other problems in keeping a dog arise if you live in a nuclear family and are planning a vacation. Where are you going to leave the dog? Not all countries have places where you can safely leave the dog when you travel.
When you get a dog as a pet it becomes part of your family. Yes it licks you and the kids. Kids begin to give the dog food from their plate using their spoon and give them a lick of their ice cream. Take time to tell them that this is not acceptable as he is a dog and it is unhygienic to do this.
Choose a best breed which suits you and your home best and get the dog from a reliable source.
