    Power foods are those food items that help to slow your aging process, prevent diseases, and boost immunity. Eating right kind of foods not only provides you with good health, but it can also resist aging, prevent cancer and heart diseases, as well as develops strong immune system. In fact, the food you choose to eat determines your health.

    To create the healthiest possible diet, nutrition experts suggest many power foods. You need to include as many of them as possible in your daily diet. Some of these amazing power foods include.

    1.    Almonds: About two ounce of almonds fulfills the daily requirement of magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral that improves heart health. Almonds also contain monounsaturated fat, vitamin E and fibers which help to maintain heart health. Those who regularly snack on nuts can easily reduce their cholesterol level and hence reduce the risk of heart diseases and colon cancer as well.

    2.    Apples:
    We all have heard the famous saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This saying is really true. Research suggests that regularly eating apples improves heart health and reduces the possibility of heart attack and stroke. Although eating whole apple is more beneficial because they contain fiber but juice too is good for your heart. Apples are rich in antioxidants and fiber. They also contain cancer preventive substances like catechins and quercetin which can prevent lung, liver and prostate cancer.

    3.    Avocados:
    Avocados are excellent for your health. They contain monounsaturated fat, vitamin E, fiber, folic acid, potassium and beta-sitosterol that lowers cholesterol and keeps your heart healthy. This fruit is a great source of antioxidant Lutein that which can protect us from prostate cancer, guard your cardio vascular system from hardening arteries, as well as protect the eyes from cataracts.

    4.    Beets:
    Beets are rich in antioxidants and folic acid that can prevent heart disease and cancer. Eating beet can inhibit the growth of lung and skin tumors.

    5.    Blueberries: This small fruit is packed with antioxidants and slows down the ageing process very nicely. It acts as an antidote to remove stress and improve memory. Blueberries can inhibit the growth of breast cancer, according to recent research.

    6.    Broccoli: Broccoli contains two main cancer fighting substances. Not only that, it also contains beta carotene and potassium which safeguard our heart and its fiber content lowers down the blood sugar level.

    These every day foods have great power to heal disease, slow the aging process and keeps you fit and healthy.
