    Natural Remedies for High Blood Pressure

    High blood pressure which is also known as Hypertension is a killer disease. It is the result of modern fast paced life which creates tremendous mental and physical pressure on our life due to the highly industrial and metropolitan atmosphere.

    A well balanced diet is of primary importance for lowering blood pressure. The DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) promoted by National Institute of Health includes fruit, vegetables beans low fat dairy product and nuts. Consumption of sodium should be limited. Not more than 2400 mg per day.

    There are many natural ingredients which can control and treat blood pressure very well. Here are some natural remedies to control high blood pressure.

    Garlic

    Taking raw cloves of garlic or garlic capsules twice or thrice a day helps in lowering blood pressure considerably. Regular consumption of garlic cloves can bring down the pulse rate modifies the heart beat and also relives from shortness of breath gas formation and dizziness.

    Gooseberry

    To bring down high blood pressure, drink 1 table spoon Indian gooseberry juice mixed with 1 spoonful honey every morning.

    Watermelon

    Watermelon seeds help in opening the blood vessels which in turn lowers the blood pressure. Roasted or dried seeds of watermelon should be taken daily to control blood pressure.

    Lemon

    Lemon is highly beneficial to control high blood pressure. Lemon contains vitamin C in its peel of fruit as well as juice. This vitamin is essential to get rid of capillary fragility.

    Potatoes

    Boiled potatoes in your diet can help in lowering the blood pressure considerably. When boiled along with their skin, it contains very little salt and hence is an ideal diet for high blood pressure patient. Moreover potatoes are rich in potassium and magnesium and are highly effective in lowering blood pressure.

    Rice

    Those who have been advised to restrict salt content in their food, rice is the perfect diet for them. Rice is low in fat and salt content. Brown rice is more effective in relaxing the nervous system and controlling the blood pressure.

    Vegetable Juice

    Juice extracted from raw vegetables like carrot and spinach is a valuable treatment for blood pressure.

    A high blood pressure patient should take potassium and calcium rich diet like fruits and vegetables and dairy products. These two nutrients help our body to secrete excess sodium and improve cardio vascular system.
