Making Your Marriage work
When you are in love you are always on your best behaviour. You meet each othe at certain times of the day. Yes you decide to marry a person because you love the person. But dating and marrying and actually living with a person is quite different.
Marriage does not mean only loving the person. The love is always there and it grows and gets stronger every day. There are lots of more important things that go into having a happy and healthy marriage. You need to fully trust the person you have married. Being suspicious of your spouse is not going to help your marriage; it will only cause problems.
Sex is also an important part in a marriage. It actually brings you as a couple closer together. The physical intimacy creates a special bond between a couple. You should understand your partner and their needs, even the desire for sex. It needs to be willing from both sides and also enjoyed by both. Understand each others need for space and privacy. and show respect to each other not only when you are alone but even with outsiders.
Both spouses are usually earning so make sure that you are together contributing to the expenses and share all the responsibilities. Remember you are a team and not an individual player. Take out time to be together and be friends. Do not let any ego come in the way of your relationship; even if one spouse is doing financially better than the other. This will surely not help your relationship and be happy with what your spouse is doing.
Remember when you marry you also need to accept your spouse’s extended family and show respect and understanding for them as well. This goes a long way in making your marriage work. If you have trust, understanding and respect in your marriage the love will only grow and you will be much happier as a couple.
So remember marriage is not a bed of roses. You have to work on having a successful and happy marriage. It is not all about love.
