Know Pregnancy Symptoms and Enjoy Safe Pregnancy
Pregnancy period lasts up to 40 weeks, starting from the first day of your last period, and progresses week by week. Considering baby’s growth stage this, forty weeks period has been grouped into three trimesters.
Knowing these stages will help you to carry pregnancy safely. Your body undergoes several hormonal changes during the first trimester and affects all the organs of your body.
Pregnancy Symptoms
The symptoms can vary from one pregnant woman to other. But still there are some common symptoms which every pregnant woman usually undergoes.
First Trimester
1. A missed period is a clear sign of pregnancy. But there can be other reasons like stress or hormonal imbalance behind missing out period. So it is advised to go through pregnancy test when you are missing your period. Nowadays, pregnancy test kids are available in the market. Without visiting a clinical laboratory also you can perform urine test with the help of this kit and detect whether you are pregnant or not.
2. Frequent urination is another symptom of pregnancy. Many women have been found visiting bathroom for urination frequently. Even at night you may have to get up for urination as soon as the embryo implants in the uterus and start producing pregnancy hormone.
3. Due to high levels of hormone progesterone during early days of pregnancy, a pregnant lady feels exhausted. So fatigue is another sign of pregnancy.
4. Morning sickness is a very common symptom during early stage of pregnancy. Though all pregnant ladies do not necessarily show these symptoms, the level of this symptom also varies from woman to woman. Few women feel sick during the other time of the day as well. Very few women experience severe morning sickness like vomiting, fatigue that results in dehydration or malnutrition. The women who face such severe symptom must consult her doctor.
5. Soar and enlarged breasts is another sign of pregnancy. As the body becomes familiar with the changes of hormone level, the ache and morning sickness will subside.
Second Trimester
1. Quickening which indicates the active fetal movement perceived by pregnant woman. It is observed during 16-18th week
2. Continuous enlargement of lower abdomen.
3. Secondary areola appears in the breast during 20th week.
4. Painless irregular spasmodic contraction on uterus can be felt.
5. Doctors can hear fetal heart sound with stethoscope by 18-20th week.
Third Trimester
1. Fetal movements are more obvious.
2. Frequent urination feeling reappears.
3. Progressive enlargement of abdomen produces signs of discomfort and exertion like patient’s palpitation becomes fast.
Pregnancy discomfort generally increases with progress of pregnancy. Move around as much as you can to maintain your blood pressure and avoid fluid build up on your legs and feet.
