Wedding bouquet is not like any other common bouquet used for day to day life purposes. The wedding bouquet has to complement the wedding gown and the theme of the ceremony. However, the classic dome shaped bouquet suits all most all dresses and themes.
For your Big Day, if you are planning to make the wedding bouquets at home then follow the instructions given below. Before going to tell you step by step about how to make it, make sure that you should choose flowers like roses, which are hardier than others.
For a standard size bouquet for the bride, you need at least 50-60 stems of any hardy flowers of your choice. Apart from that you will need paper towels, stem cutter and stripper, floral tapes, ribbon, pins and bucket.
Firstly, clean the excess foliage and thorns with the help of the stem stripper. Now, it’s the time to trim the stems from below. However, while trimming the stem from the below by a stem cutter, you should hold them underwater in a tub. Now, keep those flowers there in the water tub for some time. Only the lower part of stems should be in water not the whole part.
Secondly, take four flowers and assemble them in a square shape by keeping them in a uniform height. These four flowers are going to be at the centre stage of your dome shaped bouquet. Now, you can arrange one after another flower around the four by holding them in hand.
Thirdly, once you are satisfied with the shape of the arranged flowers, use the floral tape to bind the flowers. The gap between the binding and the flower heads should be 3-4 inches. Use the floral tape to bind the rest of the downward part of the stems while leaving only few inches from the below.
For a finishing touch, first dry the stems with paper towel before wrapping it up with the ribbon in a spiral fashion.
Once the bouquet is ready, keep it in refrigerator wrapping it with a tissue paper and take it out while going for the ceremony.
