Keep Your Liver Healthy By Eating Right Food
Liver is one of the most vital organs of our body and plays important functions in human body. So keeping your liver healthy by eating right food is absolutely necessary for our body function.
Liver plays an important role in metabolism and helps to digest food by producing bio-chemicals which is essential for digesting food. Liver stores sugar, vitamins and minerals and cleans the blood by detoxifying it.
How well your liver functions depends upon the food you eat. Food rich in antioxidant and fiber is essential to keep your liver healthy. Vitamins and Omega 3 fatty acid rich food are good for healthy functioning of liver.
Beta Carotene
Organic foods which are rich in antioxidants are good for our liver and for maintaining good health. Food that contains Beta Carotene cleanses the liver by removing free radicals. Beet and carrot contain beta-carotene. These antioxidant rich vegetables help to detoxify and give protection from liver related disease. In the same way, garlic contain selenium and glutathione which works as antioxidant.
Vitamin B, C and E
For healthy functioning of liver, consume foods that are rich in Vitamin B, C and E.
Foods that contain enough Vitamin B are broccoli, spinach, brown rice and eggs. Tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, and brussel sprouts contain Vitamin C in abundant amounts. On the other hand, avocado, almonds and walnuts are great sources of Vitamin E.
Antioxidant rich food cleanses the liver by lowering the effect of free radical that can damage the liver. But foods containing vitamin B, C and E are equally important because they promote liver decongestion and hence improve functioning of liver. Vitamin B12 also helps to metabolize fat and liver starts functioning well. Eat fish, meat, eggs and drink milk to get vitamin B12.
Fiber rich food
For proper functioning of liver and to improve digestion, include fiber rich foods like rice, cereal, and whole grains in your diet. Avoid foods that are high in cholesterol and fat. Alcohol and caffeine can damage liver. So avoid them
Your choice of food determines your liver health. Just like the heart, liver is an important organ of our body. So take great care of your liver to remain healthy.
