Is It Proper To Have Sex During Pregnancy?
Pregnancy is considered as one of the most important period of a woman’s life as she expects arrival of new member in her family.
This is the stage when woman is filled with a high desire to become a mother. But this does not mean that you restrain and suppress your sexual urge. During pregnancy a woman experiences increase in her vaginal lubrication.
There is nothing wrong in having sexual intimacy during pregnancy. Most people put a brake on sex during pregnancy apprehending some adverse consequences. But according to a study a woman can ensure a full-term pregnancy by having intercourse during this beautiful phase of her life.
However, Gynecologists usually suggest avoidance of sexual intercourse during first three months period of pregnancy. This is the period which is considered very delicate.
But if you cannot resist your temptation, you can at least have intimacy which is different from sexual intercourse. Moreover feeling of nausea, exhaustion and tiredness during first three months period do not allow women to have sexual intercourse.
They get a new sense of joy and happiness during second trimesters because of abdominal growth. But many pregnant women start feeling a bit awkward while having sex during second trimester since their belly starts bulging out during this period. But it is adjustable through little change in sexual positions.
A woman undergoes both physical and emotional changes during this phase of her life. So much so that she experiences change in her inner beliefs. Men mostly consider body of a pregnant woman more erotic and attractive especially when they go for having sex.
According to a study fluctuations in hormone in women’s body when they become pregnant, play a crucial role in their body response to lovemaking.
Again in last three months period before delivery, sexual urge in pregnant women again starts waning.
Given all such facts one should know that there is a world of difference between sex and sexuality. So, sexuality can be expressed during pregnancy even without real sexual intercourse.
Refraining from sexual intercourse during pregnancy does not mean that a couple should not kiss, cuddle and caress each other. All such activities can give a couple immense sensual pleasures.
