A romantic relation is built on a number of complex factors. The mental compatibility is that which makes both partners harbor tender feelings towards each other consisting of mutual love, trust, care, understanding and so on.
But there is also a physical or sexual compatibility which is equally important to make a relation or a marriage successful, satisfying and fulfilling. If any of the two compatibility factors, which are mental and sexual, is missing a relation is hard to survive.
Sexual libido is something which is one of our primary needs and is equated with that of biological needs like hunger and thirst. Therefore sexual need in order to be satisfied in the most fulfilling way needs a compatible partner whose needs and capacities are congruent to one’s sexual needs.
Sexual attraction comes hand in hand with the initial attraction one feels for one’s partner. Sex appeal is what which creates the sparks between two people and sets the tone for a longer, lasting relationship. Sex appeal just like beauty may lie in the eyes of the beholder. Sexual needs and capabilities to fulfill them may vary from person to person; if the needs and capacities are in congruent between partners there will conflict leading to either frustration or lowered self esteem. In most cases nature conspires to make people fall for each other where they can find both mental and sexual compatibility. Yet there are cases where the laws of attraction fail resulting either in an unfulfilling relation or breaking off of the relation altogether due to sexual incompatibility.
The best part about sexual compatibility is one can depend on instincts to find out the right sexually compatible partner. Yet there may be instances where one has been disillusioned later on to find what hitherto seemed sexual sparks are not actually what that individual is looking for.
One should definitely talk clearly with the partner as pent up desires can only lead to negativity. Clear communication helps in understanding each others’ needs and therefore one can give the best to make the relationship meaningful. It must be mentioned that sexual compatibility or attraction depends a lot on the psyche too and with better understanding and growth of deep feelings for each other sexual attraction also improves to a great extent.
