    How to Strengthen Your Memory

    improvememoryOur brain is a thinking organ. The more we interact with people, more it grows through perception and action. And more we use our brain, the better our memory becomes. We remember things in a better way. As you provide physical and mental vitality to your brain through a healthy diet, you can boost your brain power and strengthen your memory.

    Following these simple steps will help you strengthen your memory.

    Eat Healthy

    Nutrition and exercise can stop or slower memory loss especially when it is age related. Those people whose diet contains high saturated fat suffer radical damage leading to inflammation of brain. Some of the nutritious diets that can stimulate your brain are  -

    Omega-3 fatty acids found in flex seeds are very useful and protective. Blue berries contain anti oxidants and are very useful in strengthening memory. Some Vitamins and minerals help to stimulate the brain and prevent the memory loss.

    Eat spinach as it is loaded with Iron which carries oxygen to blood. Vitamin B12 and B6 are crucial for memory retention and brain health. Vitamin B is found in many foods like vegetables, dairy products, liver, kidney and whole grain. Folic acid and vitamin B9 helps in the production of red blood cells and helps to improve mental clarity.

    Stay Healthy

    Eat a nutritious diet, get enough sleep, and avoid smoking. If you drink alcohol, drink in moderation.

    Play Brain Games

    Play crossword puzzles and games such as Sudoku to give mental exercise to your brain. Puzzles, games and riddles that are challenging help to remember information.

    Reduce Stress

    High level of stress makes it difficult for brain to keep a track of all little things. By engaging yourself in leisure activities like listening to music, playing games you can reduce stress. To break the monotony, try new things like new food, new book, or try shopping in a new place.

    Stimulate Your Brain

    To make your brain active you can try some neurobic exercise. It will improve your memory. Use more than one sense in unusual ways, like listening music while reading a book.

    Exercise keeps our heart strong and blood vessels open, which in turn ensures that brain cells gets all the nutrients they need to enhance memory. A combination of physical as well as mental activities can protect your memory and keep you alert. So do regular exercise to promote healthy brain growth.
