How to Repair Scratched Eyeglasses?
Your glasses can have scratches if you wear them daily. It is seen that most of the times, the scratches are just at the top of the lens and do not penetrate through the lens. It is very difficult to see through the scratched glasses as it is very irritating. Then normally we think to buy a new glass. But instead of buying a new glass, you can also repair your scratched glass.
Following are the ways that should be used to repair scratched glasses:
Toothpaste: Apply it to the scratched lens with the help of a cotton swab and let it applied for at least 5 minutes. After 5minutes, rinse off the toothpaste and take a polishing cloth to clean the lens. One thing that should be kept in mind is that the toothpaste should not contain any chemical whiteners because this may damage your lens more.
Brasso: You can also use Brasso for removing scratches from your lens as it acts as an effective polish. For this, all you have to do is to rub Brasso on the lens of the glasses after pouring it onto a soft cloth for at least 3-5 minutes and then washing off the lens with soap.
Armor Etch: Apply this armor etch cream on both sides of the lens and wash it with water after leaving it for 5 minutes. All the scratches will be removed after applying it only once.
Lemon Pledge: Take a soft cloth and spray some lemon pledge on it. Rub it on the lens for some time and then wash it with soap. After doing this, if you see that the scratches are still there, you can repeat the process.
Liquid band-aid: Spray some liquid band-aid on the lens and let it dry. Repeat the process if there are any scratches left after doing this.
Cigarette ash: Take some ash from the ash tray and put it over the lens. Rub this ash on the lens directly and then wash it after sometime with water only. Repeat this process again if there are any scratches left. It should be noted that you don’t put lit cigarette ash onto the lens.
