    How To Relieve Stress In Your Daily Life

    Today our life is full of anxiety, pressure, demand, deadlines and frustration. A student, a businessman, an executive or a job less; every one is under so much stress that it has almost become a way of life. Stress is not always bad. It can be productive and help you to be motivated to achieve your goal. But when you are constantly running under stress, it can backfire and make you ill and less productive.

    If you are frequently finding yourself exhausted and besieged, then it’s time for you to bring your nervous system in harmony with your body. If you are able to recognize the signs and symptoms of stress, you can take steps to get out of it easily.

    Our body releases certain hormones when we are stressed and cause the blood pressure and heart rate to rise. As a result our muscles tense up and breathing becomes shallow.  All your energy is used up to fulfill the task at hand and digestive and immune system stop working temporarily. Beyond certain point, frequent exposure to stress can cause major damage to our health. Due to rise in blood pressure and suppression of immune system, stress can increase the risk of stroke and heart attack, as well as lead to anxiety and depression.

    To relieve yourself from stress try the following measures:

    Exercise and Muscle Relaxation

    Regular exercise and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga and muscle relaxation are powerful antidotes to stress. These techniques with regular practice will teach you to stay calm and reduce your everyday stress level. You will feel happy and joyful.

    Massage also reduces stress by calming the muscles. Massage also helps to boost your immune system which becomes weak during stress. You can give yourself a self massage starting from head to feet.

    Deep Breathing

    It is powerful relaxation technique. It can be practiced any time and at any place. Stretch out and deeply breathe as much fresh air as you can in your lungs from abdomen. This will help to inhale more oxygen. If you are not comfortable in taking deep breath while sitting, you can do it lying down on the floor.

    Meditation and chanting of mantras also helps to relax.
