Child abuse is in no way less than a curse on children. While physical abuse leaves visible signs, other types of abuse like mental and emotional abuse and negligence leaves ever lasting and deep scar on child’s mind. You can make a lot of difference in child’s life by knowing common type of child abuse and how you can prevent them.
Not only physical abuse, neglect and emotional abuse are equally harmful for children. It is true that most child abusers are strangers, but many times abusers are family members or some close person to the family. Our early help can heal the abused child and break the cycle.

Make them understand that no one has right to touch or hurt their private parts or make them feel uncomfortable. This frank discussion will help the child to open up, if he or she encounters any such situation.
Tell them to say “NO” if a stranger or a person they don’t like invites to accompany them, irrespective of how much they may provoke; instead teach them to leave the place as early as possible.
Keeping children away from domestic violence is also necessary. Witnessing domestic violence is emotionally abusive for children. A healthy environment is very important for the growth and development of children. Parents who drink alcohol too much can not give proper attention and care to their children. They can not make good parenting decisions and often harm them by physical abuse.
