How To Prevent Canine Distemper

The spreading of Dog Distemper:
Spreading of Canine Distemper happens when there is a physical contact with the nasal fluid or secretions of the infected animal.
Prevention:
All breeds of dogs are vulnerable to Canine Distemper. The older dogs that had not been immunized are at risk. The puppies are the most susceptible to this disease, as their immune system is still to gain maturity.
There is no definite cure for CDV till date except taking adequate preventive measures. The protection of your dog lies only in vaccination. Until the immunization of your pet is complete, it is advisable not to take your pet outside. If at all you are taking your pet outside without vaccination; then you need to be very careful since airborne ingestion is the easy way of getting affected. Kennels, parks, dog-areas and grooming-centres are some of the common vulnerable places of infection.
Symptoms:
Runny nose, diarrhea, cough, appetite loss, watery eyes, labored breathing, vomiting, and vomiting are the symptoms noticed.
Treatment:
Controlling of diarrhea, fluid discharge, vomiting is possible. A draft-free and a warm surrounding is advisable along with good attention will help your pet to recover fast. The doctor may prescribe some antibiotics for controlling the secondary ailments.
If your pet responds positively during treatment or recovery; please ensure that you do not take your pet outside. The outside climate may aggravate your dog’s respiratory troubles.
