how to pierce your ear0 comments

Ear piercingEar piercing is very risky and can cause infection as well. It is better to have a professional that can do it for you and that too in the sanitary environment. But, if you to do it on your own, following are some of the steps that can be very helpful to safely pierce your ear:

Step 1: Though piercing yourself is not recommended, but if you still want to do it you should think twice before going for it. It won’t hurt you much if you are prepared for it. You can have a friend that can be helpful and you can have fun too while piercing.

Step 2: Get some ice and apply it on your ear for around 30 seconds. This will make your ear fell numb. You can also skip this step but it is better to apply ice.

Step 3: Take a needle that should be sanitized. Make sure that you don’t share your needle with anyone use as it can cause infection. You can easily buy the needles online or from the piercing studios. If the needle is not sterilized, you can sterilize it in open flame by putting 10% alcohol on it. Don’t forget to remove detritus or soot.

Step 4: Wash your hands and put on gloves that are sterilized too. Then sterilize your ear and earring with 70%+ of alcohol.

Step 5: Put a piercing cork at the back of the ear or something else that is sturdy. This is just to help in pushing from the back when you push the needle from the front. This will not tug the skin.

Step 6: You have to stick the needle to your ear until it is done. Keep the needle bent and wiggle it. Put ice on it for at least 5 minutes and then wipe off the little drops of blood.

Step 7: You can now remove the tool used for piercing and if you have used ice as mentioned in the above step, you can then slowly and safely remove the needle from your ear and then put the earring through the hole. After it has been pierced, clean it with solution of salt water till it is healed properly. It will take around 6 weeks.
