How to Organise a Theme Birthday Party Economically
Gone are the days when birthday parties were held in a simple manner at home with a few games thrown in. Nowadays, the trend is towards fancy theme parties t hat involve a party planner and games coordinator……….and are quite heavy on the wallet.
However, a child’s desire to have a theme party can always be organised by the parents on an economical scale. As long as the party venue looks colourful and pretty and there are exciting games and yummy cake……..the party is a success!!
Choose the Theme
The theme chosen should be something that the birthday child and his/her friends can identify with. Be it a favourite cartoon character for toddlers or rainbow theme for older kids.
Make the Invitation Cards
Colourful printouts of the theme can be taken from the internet and the invites can either be printed on these or can be handwritten.
The Birthday Cake
This is the most important aspect of any child’s birthday party. Most cake shops will make the cake in the desired theme. However, an option to cut costs further is to have a simple cake, and paper cut-outs of the theme can be used around the cake ( or stuck into the cake with the help of toothpicks).
Decorating the Party Venue
The party hall/garden can be decorated with computer printouts of the theme along with the usual streamers, buntings, flags and balloons.
Party Games
Think up of party games related to the theme. This is not too difficult as most games can be twisted to give a variation as per the theme. However, a little creative thinking is required
Game Prizes
Identify items related to the theme that can be given away as game prizes.
Return (Take-home) Gift
This, too, can be based on the theme. Most gift/toy shops would cater to return gifts in the required quantity.
