How to Manage Diabetes
Diabetes is the disease which is one of the largest growing worldwide. Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the amount of glucose in the blood goes high because the body cannot handle it properly. In this condition, pancreas become unable to make insulin and in the absence of insulin, body doesn’t get the fuel which is provided by the insulin to the cells. Many people have a question in their mind that rather the management of diabetes is possible or not?
To manage diabetes one should make some changes in lifestyle and maintain the proper weight, diet as well as exercise. Some of the effective methods of diabetes management are mentioned below:
Diet Management- Managing a proper healthy nutritious diet is as key to manage diabetes. There are three main diet plans for the diabetic patients. These are counting carbs plan, exchange plan and continuous carbohydrates plan. Diabetic person should consult his/her dietician to make a diet chart.
Exercise routine- A 20-40 minutes session of exercise is prescribed for diabetes management. A proper exercise plan provides managed blood sugar level; it also helps to get rid of obesity. The activities done by body also plays significant role in managing diabetes. Sugar is used by the muscle at the time of exercise. If someone is doing regular physical work then the body starts responding to insulin and the result, blood sugar level lowers down.
Note*- Those who have shortness of breath or suffering from dizziness or chest pain should stop doing exercise.
Blood Sugar Level- The blood sugar level of diabetic is recommended to check either everyday or after some days. The regular diagnose helps the doctor and physicians to manage the diabetes.
Fluid Intake- One should take a plenty of fluids. Intake of 8-10 glasses of water daily is recommended by doctors as well as physicians.
Sleep- Get an 8 hour sleep daily. The proper sleep helps to manage diabetes as it controls the blood sugar level.
Knowledge- Knowledge of each and every aspect of diabetes is necessary for the management of diabetes. You can also attend the diabetes management classes as they provide proper knowledge about each and every aspect of diabetes management.
Eye Examination- To examine eyes is the perfect management tool as it can monitor for development as further progression of diabetic retinopathy.
Dental Checkup- Dental examination should be done once in six months.
