How To Make A Student Amenable
Student unrest is the order of the day. Being a great segment of society, it can make or mar any society. Everywhere in schools, colleges, streets we see the students’ anger being bestowed in the form of ragging, eve teasing and even murders.
Apparently it is a matter of great concern for parents, teachers and the government so also the society as a whole to make the students amenable enough to concentrate on studies so also contribute something positive towards nation’s building.
We have to adopt a style whereby we can make the students realize that their primarily concern is education. To do this, we have to follow a convincing style and say a big no to strictness. This task can be made easy with love and politeness. As parents, we should give congenial atmosphere to a student at home.
We should have positive parenting like talking to him politely, offering him the minimum required facilities. As teachers, we should listen to him and answer his queries instead of ignoring him. The teacher and the taught relationship should be based on mutual confidence. To a weak student, we should give some extra effort. Apart from studies, a student in the school should be encouraged towards extra-curricular activities.
As a member of society, we should involve students in festivities and other community efforts. The government on its part should provide sufficient number of schools in all villages/towns coupled with sufficient number of teachers, play grounds and inter-school/inter-state game and education competitions.
In essence each section of society will to take initiative to do its bit to earn their confidence. If we all do this heartily and responsible, I am sure, the student folk will definitely be lured to be amenable and our efforts in this direction with make today’s students as tomorrow’s good citizens for nation building as a whole.
