How To Get Rid Of Hair Lice?
Hair lice are the parasitic insects found in the hairs of scalp. Most of the people have an illusion that lice form their homes in untidy heads. It is just a myth. In reality they get transmitted through interaction with a person having lice in his/her head.
One should never delay in treating this problem as they feed on skin and blood. They multiply in a short span of time as a louse lays 5-6 eggs in a day. Hence, it becomes necessary to get rid of lice before the situation becomes difficult to control.
As soon as you realize that you have lice in your head, check the heads of other family members too, in order to give anti-lice treatment to all the infected persons. Tiny eggs of lice indicate their presence in the hairs. They are mostly found at the back of the ears. Start the anti-lice treatment the very moment you find a live louse in your head.
To get rid of lice many anti lice treatment chemicals are available in market. Some of them are Lindane, Permethrin, Malathion. It is advised to avoid the usage of such chemicals in pregnancy and on cancer patients. These chemicals may affect the health of hair too.
Home remedy to get rid of lice:
Purchase a nit comb and use it several times a day to remove the nits and wash it before and after every use. Many times live lice also get caught in it. Be careful not to throw them like that. Kill them or throw them in running water in your wash basin so that they don’t get on others or your own head again.
Massage your head well with vegetable oil and let the oil stay for 2 hours minimum. This will kill the lice. Wash your hair well with shampoo and apply vinegar on your hair. Comb your hair well. Once you have combed your hair with a normal comb, again comb them with nit comb. Repeat this treatment after a week.
