State Historical Museum: State Historical Museum, established in 1872, is located in the center of the capital in Red Square. Splendid architecture of the museum is eye capturing. This museum treasures a lot more than archeological finds, national clothes, old furniture, private belongings of Russian emperors like Peter and manuscripts, Russian icons, smith crafts, jewelry and lot many other things.
Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts: This museum is named after Aleksander Sergeyvich Pushkin. Pushkin is the founder of modern Russian literature. Though he died at a very young age of 38 years in 1837, he is still alive in hearts of Russians. Pushkin State Museum of fine Arts is the second largest museum of foreign art in Russia. The museum treasures more than 5,60,000 works of art from Egyptian Mummies to works that form the gold collection of world art collection.
State Tretyakov Gallery: State Tretyakov Gallery, the National Museum of Russian Fine Art, has a collection of Russian Art only. This museum is named after Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov, a Moscow merchant, who started collecting Russian paintings in 1850 of his taste. Today, there are more than 130000 works of art-paintings and sculptures.
Lenin’s mausoleum: Lenin’s mausoleum is the most visited museum of Moscow. It is situated in Red Square. Here lies the mummy of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the initiator of October Revolution.
The Vodka Museum: Russian vodka is known world –wide for its quality. The Vodka museum, earlier situated in St Petersburg, has been transferred to Moscow. It is located in the premises of Kremlin of Izmailovo. The museum describes origination and historty of vodka and its role in the history of Russian civilization.
Museum of dolls: Russian dolls are world famous. The House of Dolls, a unique museum, consists of three rooms. First room tells the history of doll, second room consists of Theater dolls and the third room consists of Author’s dolls.
