How To Avoid Miscarriage
A woman undergoes miscarriage due to many reasons. Some of the most prominent causes are low hormone levels, viral infections, thyroid problems, diabetes, infection in uterus and sometimes genetic reasons. Any woman who suffers from any of these problems should avoid physical strain and eat a healthy diet during pregnancy.
The most important thing that is required for a healthy pregnancy is pre-natal care. If you have gone through a miscarriage in the past, or you are at a high risk of miscarriage according to your doctor, then just after positive pregnancy test, finding a good obstetrician is the first thing you should do. Take every step with the strict guidance of your doctor.
The doctor will prescribe prenatal vitamins which an expectant mother needs like iron, calcium and folic acid. In the first few weeks of pregnancy, the most important nutrient you should take in enough quantities is Folic Acid. During this period, the fetus which is developing in the neural tube, ultimately develops brain and spinal cord. So birth defects can be caused due to consumption of less folic acid. Therefore, it is advisable to take foods that are rich in folic acid such as leafy green vegetables which are a good source of folic acid. You can take folic acid even before you are pregnant to prevent any birth defects for your future baby.
Your doctor will recommend a planned nutritious diet which includes lot of vegetables and fruits. He will restrict your fat intake and will advise you to eat enough fiber and all other nutrients required for your health and the growth of baby. Strictly follow his recommendations.
Say complete no to alcoholic beverages and avoid sugary and caffeine beverages. Drink water to your maximum capacity.
Avoid smoking. Smoking increases the risk of miscarriage and the risk of premature delivery.
Take proper rest. Do not exert much and avoid strain completely. If any unusual symptom occurs, report to your doctor immediately.
If your doctor permits, routine walk for half hour to one hour in the morning and evening will be beneficial for you.
Monitor your blood pressure and go for regular check ups. Avoid any kind of stress and take your pregnancy easy. You will be able to give birth to a healthy baby.
