How to apply Foundation- For oily and dry skin

Foundation is a cosmetic product which acts as a base for any kind of makeup; it is also used to enhance the complexion of skin it not only adds color to the skin but also smoothes out the texture and the tone of your skin. On an average there are three basic types which can be used depending upon the skin type.

Basic way to apply the foundation

Firstly before applying the foundation you must wash your face and hands after that little bit of moisturizer should be used, for a more natural look few drops of moisturizer can be mixed with the foundation with the help of a sponge (sponges help to give a smoother look for your skin tone and texture). Now after the application of the moisturizer it should be left for few minutes after which with the help of a tissue paper excess moisturizer should be removed.

While using a powder foundation nothing much has to be done the powder foundation can just be applied like a normal compact powder. Powder Foundation should be properly blended at areas like jaw line, ear lobes, corners of mouth, under eyes etc as this will give a flawless look to your skin.

On another hand when liquid foundation is to be used small dots of foundation should be applied at different parts of the face for example few dots should be applied at nose, forehead, chin, cheeks bones etc. After this each dot should be properly blended with the skin which gives the whole face a proper texture finished.

Start the use of foundations with wider areas like cheek bones and forehead. Firstly start with a lighter coat and gradually touch up more layers depending upon your look. The use of foundation should take place with the help of a sponge; the sponge should run from the center of the face to outwards.

Retouch ups can also be given with the help of reapplying the foundation at particular spots with a light hand. For this powder foundation is the best thing which can be used.

Application of foundation –oily skin

For an oily skin before using the foundation you should clean your face with astringent and then more likely powder foundation should be used for toning your skin, powder foundation should be blended evenly on your skin, these powder foundations also help to give a matt effect. Powder not only helps to add color to your skin but also helps to give a smooth finish. To use powdered foundation generally sponge or cotton is used. If not powdered foundation many oil free liquid foundations are also available in the market.

People with oily skin should keep this in mind that overdone foundation only oily skin can tend to look like a mask which can lead to spoil the whole look so limited amount of foundation should be applied with proper blending with skin tone. Proper touch ups on the nose, ear lobes etc can be given with the help of powder foundation for a proper texture all through the skin.

Application of foundation-dry skin

For dry skin powder foundation may not be the best choice on the other hand as the skin is dry with liquid foundation few drops of moisturizer should be mixed and applied evenly on the skin and neck so that proper blend is followed, powdered foundation can make the skin look more dry so it’s best to use a foundation which is either liquid or moisturized. Dry skin often becomes patchy so foundation is a base which is a must before using any kind of makeup.

Foundation is the basic makeup also known as makeup base it helps to smoothen the texture as well as a unified look to the skin. No makeup is said to be complete without the use of foundation, but before using any foundation skin type should be taken into consideration.
