Eye shadow is a eye makeup product which is used to highlight the eyes, eye shadows are available in many shades and tones and so can blend with any kind of skin complexion, for different complexions different eye shadows are available, eye shadows also are available in powder as well as paste form, it depends upon the requirement what material of eye shadow has to be used. Eye shadow is a must to achieve a professional and presentable look. The best use of eye shadow can be achieved in case eyes are small in size as eye shadow helps in highlighting the eyes. The use of eye shadow should be done very carefully as if the application of eye shadow is done in an improper manner the whole look can get spoiled, the application of eye shadow depends upon the shape and size of the particular eye on which the application of eye shadow has to be done.
For the purpose of application choosing an eye shadow is also a difficult task. The choice of eye shadow depends upon the color and texture of the skin that is it depends upon the fact that whether the skin is dark or light in complexion, or whether the skin is dry or oily in case the skin is dark in complexion colors like black or brown will tend to look good and for a light complexion skin colors which are bright in nature will blend well, for a dry skin it is best to use a eye shadow which is in paste form and for an oily skin dry powdered eye shadow cab be applied.
Application
There are many ways to apply an eye shadow but on an average there are two main ways in which an eye shadow can be applied that is one is rounded and the other is winged. To test which one suits you the most you must apply rounded style of applying eye shadow in one eye and winged style of applying eye shadow in the other eye, by doing this it will be easy to judge what style of application suits you the most and also for future same style can be applied in case of emergency.
For the application of an eye shadow perfect practice is required, as an improper application may make you look messy and ultimately not very presentable, even lot pre experiments of blending different shades should be done to check which one suits you the most and you’ll be surprised to see many shades and tones will suit you, and may make you look beautiful.
Incase the area between the eyebrows and eyelid crease is small or less
Incase the area between the eyebrows and eyelid crease is less then winged from of applying eye shadow should be used. For a winged style there are few rules to follow one highlight the eye shadow from eyelash line to eyebrow. Second medium shade of eye shadow should be applied on the eyelids. Third in the winged style of applying eye shadow the accent eye shadow is winged at outer corner and there should be proper blending. Lastly the upper and lower eyelashes should be lined or highlighted properly with the help of an eye pencil.
Incase the area between the eyebrows and eyelid crease is big or large
In case the area between the eyebrows and eyelid crease is large then rounded form of applying eye shadow should be used, even for applying the rounded style there are few rules to follow firstly the eye shadow should be used across the eyelid, from lash line to slightly beyond the crease and all the way to eyebrows, secondly medium shade of eye shadow should be applied at eyelids and smudged under bottom eyelashes and lastly upper and lower eye lashes should be lines properly with the help of an eye pencil.
