Splash your face with cold water as soon as you wake up. If you can then use a mixture of cold water and ice cubes in a tub and then splash it on your face. You can also wrap some ice in a paper towel and place it on your eyelids for a few minutes the cold compress helps to reduce the swelling in the eye.
Eye creams can also help in reducing the puffiness in the eyes. One has to remember to keep the eye cream in the refrigerator. The cold cream helps in curing the puffiness faster because of the cold compress it provides to the eye. When applying an eye cream always use a ring finger as this will help in the fluid drainage from the eye area. You can also use an Aloe Vera based eye cream and gel once day to have a soothing effect.
Keep two tea bags dipped in water for some time, then wring the bags out of water and put these bags in the refrigerator for a while, if you are in a hurry then you can also put it in a freezer as well. Once these bags are chilled lie down and put down the bags on the eyelids for five to ten minutes.
Cucumber can also be very beneficial for treating puffy eyes, cut two slices along with skin from a cold cucumber and place this on the eyelid for about five minutes. Remember that the slices should be around half inches thick.
You can keep some cotton wool pads soaked in cold milk and then squeeze it and place the pads on the eyelids. This helps in brightening the white part of the eye. This has to be repeated for 15minutes by using repeated cotton pads.
Getting a good sleep is one of the first steps to avoid getting puffy eyes. One has to maintain a sleep timing and try and sleep at the same time everyday for at least eight hours a day. You also have to avoid artificial sweeteners as this helps to retain more water in the body.
Puffy eye are also a sign of water retention in the body. To avoid this drink lots of water in the day as this help the toxins to be washed out from the body.
