Most of parents are concerned about their kids sitting in front of television to watch programs or play video games for most of the time in a day.
Though some of the programs can be based on educational themes, yet your kid can easily become overexcited and overenthusiastic.
Effects of television on kids
Experts say it is necessary to limit screen time since sitting in front of television for long hours can cause obesity in children. According to them kids spending more than two hours in watching television in a day are prone to become overweight.
Television screening also disturbs normal sleep pattern in kids. If your kid is keenly watching television for long hours, you will find him reluctant to go to bed. Eventually your kids will difficulty falling asleep.
According to a study television can influence behavioral activity of kids. Too much of screening can cause kids to bully besides leading to several other problems related to attention, depression and anxiety.
Elementary students having televisions in their bedrooms are more likely to perform poorly in examinations.

Know how to limit screen time of kids
Your kid may be watching television for the time more than what have expected. So, monitor your kid in the beginning and then take measures for reducing and limiting the time being spent by him or her in watching movies or playing video games.
Also make sure that your background is without television. Remember that if you turn on your television in the background, your kid will be tempted to watch it again leaving his or her studies or other creative activities half way. In case you do not like to watch any show or program, you would better turn off the television.
Make sure that your kid’s bedroom is without television or computer as it disrupt his or her sleep besides affecting studies.
Do not allow your kid to have lunch, dinner or snack while watching television. If you allow your kid to do so, you will observe mindless munching which is responsible for weight gain.
