How Breathing Can Rid You From Headache
If you are feeling severe headache then instead of taking painkillers, you simply try to relax for sometimes. It is not necessary that you would completely get rid of this problem merely by relaxing, but you would certainly feel better.
The health experts say that painkillers are easy methods to get relief from different types of aches including headache but these problems can also be tackled equally efficiently through light exercises focused on body relaxation like breathing.
When a person takes deep breath, his brain secretes huge amount of endorphins which are neurochemicals that occur naturally in the brain and contain analgesic properties. Ideally, if your stomach is empty, then you would get better results of deep breathing. Therefore, breathing exercises are suggested to be done in the morning.
However, you can do it as per your convenience too, but you would have to keep in mind that there should be a gap of at least three hours between your food intake and breathing exercise.
There are various types of deep breathing exercises but you can find the most effective ones in yoga in which the instructor would ask you in the beginning to inhale deeply and practice to hold the breath for at least 5-10 seconds before exhaling.
Gradually, you would become expert in holding your breath for a minute or two. Repeating the process for minimum of five times would give you utter peace and freshness and you will observe that your headache has vanished. Deep breathing exercise with light music is also said to be an effective method to keep headache at the bay.
There could be ample reasons for the occurrence of headache like improper diet or even huge stress due to excessive work pressure. Sometimes, a person taking medicines for a long time can also suffer from headache. Similarly, a person who is suffering from any chronic disease is also likely to have headache.
Still, headache is directly related with the eating habits of a person. If you will eat adequate amount of green vegetables and fibre-rich food stuffs then you will have proper bowel movement in the morning and as a consequence you will feel fresh. But if you are fond of fast foods, especially spicy ones, and if your bowel movement is not normal then you would certainly suffer from headache.
