Take 3 tsp of lettuce seeds and boil them in 1 liter of water till the amount of water reduces to one third. Consume this in 3 servings. You can even try out having honey mixed with lukewarm water before sleeping. Salad of onion is also effective in insomnia. Avoid having caffeine drinks as much as possible. Take curd, butter and dairy products in your diet.
Intake of vitamin B also treats the insomnia. For that you must take whole grain cereals, potatoes, pulses, nuts and brown rice. You can even try out having juice of fenugreek mixed with honey and have it just before you go to sleep. Other thing that can be tries out is having a good exercise regimen.
This keeps the mind fresh and reduces indigestion problem. Watching much of TV must be avoided as it causes strain and hence insomnia. Join yoga, dance or aerobic class to release the stress of mind and mental tension. Do meditation as well. Another thing that you can try out is taking a bath before sleeping.
