Home Remedies For Fibromyalgia

A rheumatic disorder, fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic muscle pain. The pain may be severe and it affects mainly the thighs, back of the head, the lower back, shoulders, the upper chest and the neck. The pain is usually found to be throbbing, burning, shooting and stabbing.

Other major symptoms of fibromyalgia include premenstrual syndrome, palpitations, memory impairment, painful periods, anxiety, irritable bladder, skin sensitivities, dizziness, impaired coordination, dry eyes and mouth and a need for frequent changes in eyeglass prescription.

In this condition, the muscles become sore and tender to touch and it mainly affects the sleeping habits of the individual. The patients of fibromyalgia find it hard to sleep due to the severe pain and hence the sleep is frequently disturbed. However, there are many home remedies available for the disease.

Using Bog bean

Bog bean can be used as a remedy against the pain and inflammation of fibromyalgia. It acts as an anti inflammatory medicine. The herb can decrease the pain and inflammation caused due to fibromyalgia.

Using turmeric

Turmeric is a very good medicine for many diseases, including fibromyalgia. For taking it as a medicine, add 1-2 teaspoonful of turmeric in a glass of water and drink it every day. It will provide quick relief from pain and inflammation of fibromyalgia.

Using lemon juice and honey

Lemon juice and honey can also be used as a remedy against fibromyalgia. In a cup of warm water mix two teaspoonful of lemon juice and a teaspoonful of honey. This solution can be taken twice every day to get relief from the pain of fibromyalgia.

Using Cherry

Cherry mixed with butter and jiggery also acts as a wonderful home remedy for fibromyalgia. Take two teaspoonful of butter in a frying pan and add 10-12 cherries to it and heat the mixture. After some time, add 2-3 tablespoon of jiggery to it and keep heating the mixture for some time. Now, cool the mixture and take it 2-3 times every day. It will provide excellent results against fibromyalgia.

Using pigweed

Pigweed also acts as a wonderful remedy for fibromyalgia. Extract juice from pigweed and take 15 ml of this juice every day without adding any salt or sugar in an empty stomach. This helps in reducing the pain and inflammation.

Using Brinjal

Brinjal is quite effective in curbing fibromyalgia. Take two-three small brinjals and while cooking on fire add 2-3 drops of castor oil, garlic and cumin seeds to it. For taste add some salt. One can also add green coriander leaves to it. This should be taken 2-3 times every day for nearly a month to get positive results against fibromyalgia.

Using vegetables

Vegetables such as cabbage, carrot and beat are very helpful in treating fibromyalgia. The freshly prepared juice of these vegetables should be taken 2-3 times every day. The vegetable juices are very effective and act quickly; thereby treating fibromyalgia without leaving any side effects.

Using fruits

Various fruits such as radish and cranberry are very helpful in treating fibromyalgia. Freshly prepared radish or cranberry juice can be taken every day for treatment of the disease.

Papaya seeds are also effective in treatment of fibromyalgia. Take some seeds of papaya and grind it and then add to a cup of water. Boil the mixture and strain it. Take it 2-3 times a day for quick results.

Other fruit juices, such as orange juice is also very helpful in the treatment of fibromyalgia. The raw juice can be taken or cod liver oil can also be added to it. This juice can be taken at night before going to sleep.

Using ginger

Ginger is also a very good remedy for fibromyalgia. The individuals suffering from fibromyalgia should take small pieces of raw ginger in the diet. The ginger juice can also be taken in the dosages of two –three tablespoons, two-three times every day.

Using oatmeal

Oatmeal can also be used to treat fibromyalgia. Take 5 tablespoons of oatmeal in milk and add a little jiggery and cherry to it. Mix the ingredients well and boil the mixture so that the oatmeal is cooked fully. The prepared solution can be taken 3-4 times every day.
