    Home Remedies For Backache

    Although backache is a fairly common problem, the reasons for backache vary widely. Usually the pain is experienced in the lower back portion of the body. Most of the cases of backache are associated with cervical and lumbar spondylosis, a disorder where the vertebrae adhere to one another.

    However, there might be other reasons associated too. There are many simple remedies available for backache and maintaining a proper routine with the remedies goes a long way in the treatment of the problems.

    Using Garlic

    Garlic is one of the best medicines for backache. The individuals suffering from backache should take two to three cloves every morning for a fortnight for getting effective results. The oil extracted from garlic is also a good way to get relief from pain.

    For preparing the oil, in 60 ml of oil 10 cloves of garlic must be fried in slow fire till it gets brown. Any oil that is used for rubbing the skin can be taken for this purpose, i.e. mustard, sesame or coconut oil. This preparation, when cooled, should be applied on the affected areas vigorously and should be left there for there to four hours. A warm bath after this application makes the process more effective and offers very good results.

    Using Basil leaves

    Basil leaves can also be used as a home remedy for all forms of backache. For preparing the medicine, 10 basil leaves should be boiled in a cup of water until the solution is reduced to half a cup. After cooling a little salt should be added to the solution. This can be taken orally for 10 to 15 days. If the problem is severe the intake should be increased to twice a day.

    Using Lemon

    Lemon is one of the useful remedies for backache problems. For preparing the medicine, extract the juice of a lemon and add a pinch of salt to it. Lemon juice provides great relief from backache and should be taken twice daily.

    Using potato

    Potato has been used as a natural remedy for backache from ancient times. Raw potato applied in the form of poultice on the affected areas can provide quick relief from all kinds of backache. Potato is one of the most effective remedies that provide relief from backache by diminishing the severity of the pain, especially in the lower back portion of the body.

    Using pepper corn, cloves and ginger

    The mixture of five pepper corns, five pieces of clove and a pinch of ginger powder added to tea is a wonderful medicine for backache.  This preparation should be taken twice every day, until the backache diminishes.

    Using Eucalyptus oil

    Eucalyptus oil is also beneficial for backache. The oil should be messaged in the affected area for 10 to 15 days for getting relief from backache. If possible, a self message proves highly useful for the backache problems.

    Using Chebulic Myroblan

    Chebulic Myroblan taken orally can also act as a medicine for backache. Taking small pieces of Chebulic Myroblan, especially after the meals can work wonders for individuals suffering from backache.

    Using Vitamin C

    Vitamin C is an effective solution for severe forms of backache. Nearly 2,000 mg of Vitamin should be taken orally every day for getting relief from backache problems. Fruits rich in Vitamin C also help in diminishing backache to a considerable extent.

    Doing regular exercise

    There are many fruitful exercises that provide relief from backache. Exercise can keep the lumbar and cervical reason fit enough by maintaining its proper position and strengthening the muscles. Apart from regular freehand exercises the individuals suffering from backache should try the various yoga asanas that are proved useful for backache.

    It should however be remembered that for getting relief from backache one should also look after food and lifestyle habits. For example eating hot items and keeping oneself warm is one of the most important conditions for getting relief from backache.

    Also, the individuals suffering from backache should take healthy diet including tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, lettuce etc. Healthy diet looks after the needs of the body and can provide an easy way out from various deficiencies.  A healthy diet, exercise and effective home remedies together provides very fast results and is essential for quick relief.
