The wear and tear, lack of proper nutrition and exercise contributes to the failing health of the bones, thus making one dependable as one advance with age.They are challenging health problems for the elderly.Treating the disease with drugs can cause side effects such gas, abdominal pain, acid reflux.

    Diet plays a crucial role in both the maladies. Acidic food in diet such as meat, sugar and peanuts can cause calcium loss resulting in arthritis. To counter the acidity in the body eat more of alkaline foods such as fruits and vegetables.Avoid soft drinks as it is highly acidic.

    You can cut down on your coffee and tea as it leaches out calcium from the bones. For stronger healthy bones include in your diet brown rice, more of fruits and vegetables and black sesame, these foods are rich in calcium and other minerals.

    Maintain good posture as bad posture can result in excess stress to the joints especially neck and back and also causes poor blood circulation.Osteoarthritis pain can be effectively treated with ginger. Ginger is anti-inflammatory, it can reduce the pain, and it is also known to bring a change in the arthritic joints.

    Guggul is an Ayurvedic remedy for arthritis. The arthritic pain can be reduced to a great extent with oral ingestion or topical application of nettle extracts.

    Beat the pain of arthritis with the right diet and lifestyle and good posture.In osteoporosis, over the years there is loss of bone mass and density and becomes vulnerable to fractures.

    Osteoporosis is caused due to low calcium in diet and being calcium deficient , calcium is removed from the bones to help other organs function and stay healthy, thus the density of bone is diminished and it becomes thin and brittle.

    Herbs that help osteoporosis include evening primrose oil, studies have shown that it can increase bone density. Soy is great for dealing osteoporosis, it prevents bone loss and increases bone mass density.

    It alleviates osteoporosis symptoms in pre and post menopausal women. Green tea is also known to boost the bone mineral density in both men and women.Osteoporosis can be kept at bay with diet rich in calcium and vitamin D and exercise.
