Adapting good eating habits is the first step towards good health. You should never miss your breakfast. If you cant have it at home than take it to office. Also, always keep eatables handy; try fruit juices, salad, multi-grain biscuits and dry fruits.
It’s a good idea to carry your own lunch, as the food available in the cafeteria doesn’t always meet the nutrition requirements. Drink lots of water, it helps in detoxification of the body, keeping you fresh and alert.
People usually complain of frequent episodes of neck and back aches, a bad working posture can be a reason behind this. When sitting, make sure your chair is at a proper height so that you sit straight with full back supported. Make sure that your work desk is easily accessible without requiring you to move forward, up or down. Additionally, you can use back cushions and foot rests to make yourself more comfortable.
If working on computers for long hours, than you need to be very careful about eye care. The lighting at your work station should not be too bright or too dim. Also, blink your eyes after every few minutes, it helps in keeping them moist.
Practice simple exercise to avoid undue strain on your body. After every hour rotate your neck and stretch your arms. You can take a stroll in between and try stretching your legs and back. Try moving all possible body joints to avoid joint stiffness.
Taking stairs to your workplace is a great idea. If your office is at a higher floor than get down the elevator a few floors below and take the stairs up. Climbing stairs will not only keep you fit but can also help in shedding some extra pounds.
So from now on, don’t blame work for your physical problems instead grab every opportunity available to maintain your health even when at work. You can also discuss these approaches with your colleagues and can motivate them to attain good health.
